Degrassi Online, since July 1997, created by a fan, not a company
Here are some of the locations in Toronto
Vincent Massey Public School, 68 Daisy Street, Etobicoke (runs east-west
a few blocks north of Lakeshore between 28th and 30th streets). Degrassi
Junior High was shot upstairs in two classrooms: a utility room doubled as
the secretary's office. Now the school is a resource centre for the Toronto Board of
Education and home to an English-as-a-Second Language program called LINC,
Dundas Street Junior School is on 935 Dundas Street East and is the place where Kids of Degrassi was shot between 1979-1986.
There is a Parkette on the northeast corner of Degrassi and Cummings. There was once a
phone booth here, which Yick used on Degrassi Jr. High to call the Sex with
Dr. Sally show (played by real-life TV sex-advisor Sue Johansson)
to ask if Arthur's wet dreams were normal.
The De Grassi Grocery is at the southwest corner of Degrassi and Cummings. It was
used as a reoccuring location in the Kids of Degrassi Street. It was owned by
Mrs. Brendakas, played by Sari Friedland.
98 Degrassi Street was the home of Ida Lucas on Kids of Degrassi Street. It was once home of Bruce MacKey, a friend of Linda Schuyler's, who allowed her to use it to shoot interior and exterior scenes while he was at work during the day.
Wheels Parents lived in an apartment near the water in Etobicoke. After his parents died, he lived with his grandparents at 91 Pape, which was one of the 4 homes owned by Linda Schuyler and Kit Hood.
91 Pape was one of the four houses owned by Kit Hood and Linda Schuyler. This was Melanie's home, but it was also used for editing, recording voiceovers, and actors workshops. Joey originally lived in a house in the west end (Etobicoke). 63 Boston was the place where Michelle rented her apartment.
Caitlin lived at 1181/2 Pape. Spike lived in the same home as Arthur.
The Bar and Grill is on 932 Queen Street East. This bar was once called 13 Busy and then changed names to The Pug and The Pontiff.
This is the restaurant where Degrassi Junior High kids hung out and where
Caitlin poured a Coke on Joey's head after she found out that, on a bet, he
asked her out on a date.
Toronto Hostels Training Centre, 935 Queen Street East -(corner Carlaw) once the
home of Degrassi creators Kit Hood and Linda Schuyler and headquarters for their
company, Playing With Time.
Shopper's Drug Mart, 970 Queen Street East (corner Carlaw) scenes from Degrassi Junior
High were shot inside this drug store. This is where Erica and Spike bought pregnancy tests and where Joey bought condoms for a date with Liz.
Broadview Health Clinic of St. Michael's Hospital, 791 Queen Street East.
(corner De Grassi) It is still a community health clinic and this was where Spike's pregnancy was confirmed in Degrassi
Jr. High.
The Centre for Creative Communications, part of Centennial College, 951 Carlaw. north of Danforth and on the corner of Carlaw and Mortimer.
This was the building used for Degrassi High. In 1980, Playing With Time
used the building to do the original casting for the Kids of Degrassi
Street.
Earl Grey Senior Public School, 100 Strathcona Avenue corner Jones Ave. This building was used as the setting for Borden High School, and it was also used
as the cafeteria, The Christmas episode of Season 3. Linda Schuyler taught
at this school for a couple of years prior to creating Playing With Time with
Kit Hood.
Gas station on Kingston east of Woodbine It was used two or three times during
run of Degrassi Jr. High and Degrassi High. In the final two-hour special, it was the place where Wheels worked, and the garage where they took Snake's
mother's car after they stole it and broke a tail-light. It may be believed that
the gas station still exists. It is called Orchard Park Auto
